Settings: Events Log
The Events Log tab in Workalizer Settings provides a chronological record of user activities inside Workalizer and (where integrated) from connected Google Workspace applications. It answers who did what, when, and where—supporting compliance, troubleshooting, and accountability. This guide describes the Events Log section under Settings.
Where to Find Events Log
Go to /settings/ and open the Events Log tab. Access is typically restricted to administrators or compliance roles.
Functionality
- Chronological record: The log lists events in time order. Each entry typically includes the user, the action (e.g. login, report view, document action, settings change), the time, and relevant context (e.g. resource, IP, device).
- Scope of events: Events may include actions from integrated Google Workspace applications (e.g. Drive, Meet, Gmail, Chat) and Workalizer-specific operations (e.g. configuration changes, report access, Document Alerts configuration). The exact set depends on your integration and data collection settings.
- Transparency and accountability: Managers and admins can use the log to see how the product is used, track productivity or access patterns, and resolve disputes about who did what.
- Compliance and audit: The log provides an auditable history of user interactions, which is important for compliance, security reviews, and internal or external audits.
- Troubleshooting: When investigating an issue, you can trace a specific user’s or resource’s event sequence to understand what happened and when.
Use the Events Log together with Document Alerts and other reports for a full picture of activity and oversight.
