Performance Review for Employee: Report Overview and All Widgets
The Performance Review for Employee report in Workalizer gives a single, data-rich view of one employee across communication, initiative, schedule, time allocation, independent work, attendance, work-life balance, policy compliance, and AI adoption. This report is part of the Reports area and surfaces every section and widget so you can run evidence-based performance conversations.
Report Access and Scope
Open /performance-review/ and select an employee (or org unit then employee). Choose the Employee tab. The report is scoped to the selected person and the chosen Period (e.g. Month, Quarter). All sections below appear in a single scrollable view. Related reports: Performance Review for Manager (manager time per report) and Work Patterns (team-level).
Functionality by Section
Communication
Communication volume and patterns for the selected employee across email, chat, and Meet. All widgets support AI Insights.
- User Initiated Communication: Emails sent, chat messages initiated, and Meet sessions organized—outbound communication activity.
- User Received Communication: Emails received, chat messages received, and Meet sessions participated in—incoming volume.
- Sent vs Received Ratio: Sends versus receives—communication balance and engagement level.
- By Activity Label: Documents, chat, and Meet activity grouped by activity labels (e.g. Project Work, Admin, Support).
- By Peer Type: Volume with teammates, other teams, or external contacts—who they interact with.
- Meetings by Time Period: Meetings attended over time—meeting load and allocation.
- Most Frequent Communication Partners: Individuals the user communicates with most (documents, chat, Meet) by total volume.
- By Weekdays: When communication happens most by day of week—peak interaction times.
- Chat Rooms by Message Volume: Chat rooms with the highest posted messages—most active group conversations.
- By Collaborative Time: Time in meetings and chat with own team, other teams, and external collaborators—communication patterns across groups.
- Chat Response Speed and Frequency: How quickly and how often the employee replies to direct chat from team members—responsiveness.
Initiative and Ownership
Content creation, ownership, and collaboration for the employee. Widgets support AI Insights.
- Created Items by Activity Label: Documents, meetings, events, and chat rooms created, grouped by activity label—work distribution across projects.
- Created Items by Type: Count of documents, meetings, events, and chat rooms created or initiated—content creation by type.
- Doc Review Count: Document revision and review count before final version—collaborative editing and iterations.
- Most Popular Documents: Documents ranked by interactions (views, edits, comments, downloads)—most engaged-with content.
- Top Recurring Events and Meetings: Recurring meetings and events by activity label—time on regular work activities.
- User Activity on Resolving: Documents where comments or suggestions were resolved—review and problem-solving activity.
Schedule and Punctuality
Where and when the employee works, and how they plan meetings.
- Work Location Breakdown: Time working from home vs office.
- Consistency of Attendance in Meets: Attendance in recurring team meetings over time—which meetings were attended or missed.
- Planned vs Ad Hoc Meetings: Balance of planned vs spontaneous meetings organized by the employee—meeting planning style.
- Workday Alignment with Team: How the user’s workday start and end times align with the team.
Time Management
Working Time Allocation by Label: How working time is allocated across activity labels—meetings (with duration), documents, chat messages, calendar events, with comparisons to previous period and team averages. Supports AI Insights.
Independent Work
Files and time spent on individual and collaborative tasks.
- Created and Owned Files: Total files the employee has created and currently owns in Google Workspace.
- Shared Files: Files shared internally with the team and externally with contacts.
- Time Spent on Activities: Time on independent tasks: emails, chat, document comments, meetings.
Attendance
Daily activity and meeting attendance.
- Activity Heatmap: Daily activity as a grid—each square a day, color intensity is activity across Gmail, Drive, Chat—patterns and trends.
- Scheduled Meet Attendance Rate: How regularly scheduled meetings are attended—consistency in commitments.
- Workday Alignment with Team: How the user’s workday start and end align with the team (also in Schedule).
Work-Life Balance
Signals for rest and extended hours.
- Breaks During Work Indicator: Grid where color indicates whether breaks were taken during the workday—work and rest balance.
- Days with Extended Work Hours: Workdays as colored squares; highlights days with extended hours—overtime and workload patterns.
Policy Compliance
External sharing visibility.
- Docs Shared Externally: How many documents were shared with people outside the organization.
- Docs Shared Externally by Label: Number and types of files shared outside the org by activity label—sharing patterns and risks.
AI Adoption and Usage
Gemini usage for the employee. All widgets support AI Insights.
- Invocations by App: How often the employee invokes Gemini across Workspace apps; comparison to team; estimated time per app.
- Invocations by Action: Usage by action type; comparison to team and previous period.
- Power AI Users: (In context of team) Users who actively use Gemini—invocation counts, time spent, comparisons.
Daily Timeline
Daily Timeline: Timeline view of the employee’s daily activities and events.
